- What this is: Virtual Link B1 PreRelease Beta. It’s close to production, but you’re helping validate final real world behavior before public launch.
- Beta pricing: You’re getting $100 off MSRP. MSRP for the production unit is $750.
- Estimated ship window: Target ship date for the beta is around Jan 30th. We’ll communicate updates if timing shifts.
- Beta test length: You’ll have the beta unit for 14 days from delivery.
- Install timeline: You agree to install within 3 days of receiving the unit. The install will require about 2 hours of time.
- Required driving/testing: During the 14 days, you agree to:
- Drive at least 7 days total
- Drive at least 30 minutes on each of those days
- Include varied conditions (city/highway, smooth/rough roads, different speeds, day/night if possible, etc.)
- Feedback expectations: You agree to provide user feedback during the test window (quick notes are fine), and be ready to submit logs if we request them.
- Return and swap process: At the end of the beta window, you’ll send the beta unit back using a prepaid return label provided by us.
- Photos and Documentation: You agree to take significant and adequate photos and notes of the full install. Pinnatec Auto may ask for additional photos or notes which you agree to collect. Take your time on this as these will be used to build the individual install pdfs for users on the production units.
- Production unit shipment: Once we receive your beta unit back, we’ll ship your production unit to you.
- Care of unit: Treat the beta unit like a loaner, keep it intact and in good condition so it can be used for continued testing.
Beta Use Acknowledgement & Liability Release
- Engineering beta / assumes risk: This is an engineering pre-release product. You understand it may behave unexpectedly, may contain defects, and may require updates or troubleshooting. You choose to install and use it at your own risk.
- No warranties (beta): The beta unit is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranties of any kind (express or implied), including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted/error-free operation.
Release of liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and agree not to hold Pinnatec Auto / Pinnatec LLC (and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates) liable for any claims, losses, damages, injuries, or property damage arising from or related to installation, use, misuse, inability to use, or performance of the beta unit. - Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pinnatec Auto / Pinnatec LLC from third-party claims or losses arising from your installation or use of the beta unit, including reasonable attorney fees.
- Stop-use if unsafe: If you observe behavior that appears unsafe or abnormal, you agree to stop using the vehicle feature immediately and contact Pinnatec for guidance.
- Scope note: You are responsible for complying with local laws and operating the vehicle safely at all times.
